Sun Falls State Park Camping Trip
Mom and Dad Sipe recently bought a new camping trailer and we just couldn’t wait to test it out! So, after Rich got back from his business trip to Philadelphia, we packed up the camper and headed out the next morning to Sun Falls State Park. The park is located seven miles southwest of Coulee City, WA which is about a 6 hour drive from our house in Battle Ground, WA.
The drive went really well. The truck and trailer did great and Kayla slept most of the trip. It took us a bit longer than expected but I guess that is just how it will be traveling with an infant, toddler, child, teenager … from now on I guess! The old part of the campground was full but turns out there is a new section they just finished. The new section is amazingly nice and we almost had the loop to ourselves.
The weather was very very wet which is quite unusual for that part of Washington. The trailer was great to have, though. We played cards and relaxed for the weekend. We did have a period of nice weather in which we took a drive to Dry Falls and took a hike to some nearby caves. It was Kayla’s first hike and she did really well and seemed to enjoy the experience. The Dry Falls overlook was amazing and we managed to spot a coyote and two dear down in the valley.
Be sure to check out the pictures and a movie of our trip in our picture gallery.
